Bo-Kaap

A popular daytime destination, hillside Bo-Kaap is known for its narrow cobbled streets lined with colorful houses. We stayed in this area close to the start & finish for the Cape Town Cycle Tour

Waiting at the starting batches at the Cape Town Cycle Tour, gave me some opportunity to experiment with light and silhouettes.

The day before CTCT

The Cape Town Cycle Tour is a big event on the cycling calendar. The day before we usually cycle a short distance to make sure all is good for the next day race and have some photo time with interesting sculptures along the route.

Photographing the stars has always been a challenge for me. Last night on a cold winter night in Bloemfontein, I have tried my luck again at capturing the Milky Way.

Spending time at the beach and the lagoon in Cintsa, I tried my luck at bird photography. I was lucky capturing a few birds in flight like this heron.

My friend Jana loves Cosmos flowers and loves doing crafts with images of Cosmos. On my attempt to capture Cosmos photos, I had one lucky shot with a bee on the flower.

The flower dome was listed as the largest glass greenhouse in the world as listed in the Guinness World Records 2015 and hosts flowers and plants from the Mediterranean and semi-arid regions. Changing displays are also done to reflect different seasons and festivals.

Marina Bay Sands

Emma Booysen Photography

I have done many photos of the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore during night time, therefore I want to share some day time photos as well. I usually stroll around the gardens at the Marina Bay Sands before sunset, thereafter I enjoy doing night scapes.

Symmetry

Symmetry was also one of the set subjects at the camera club. I have decided to apply it to a studio shot. Sanelle was the model for this experiment.

Winter Shoot

I have experimented with Photoshop to create some fake snow. How ironic that Summer (my assistant) was the model for the winter shoot.

Phuket Sunset

Any beach will always remain some of my favorite places. Sunsets are also a beautiful time of the day. On a lucky day like this one the colors were so warm and vibrant.

This time of the year we usually go on our annual leave. We were planning a trip to Singapore, however our plans changed due to the Covid-19 lockdown. Wishing we could be flying abroad, I am sharing this image of a sunrise over the ocean, taken from the plane of one of our international flights.

Fairy

Emma Booysen Photography

I did many photos in the UK of forests and mushrooms. Many of the forests look like they could have fairies living there. Therefore I created a fairy forest in Photoshop. Micky was the fairy.

The Shard

Emma Booysen Photography

The Shard is a 95-Storey building in London. I took this image from a ferry on river Thames, during mid day. Mid day is not always the best time to take photos, but luckily the clouds on that day helped to create a dramatic look.

A composite is the combination of multiple photos. This one is a combination of a forest I photographed in the UK and one of my studio shoots.
